I live in Houston. I work for a transfer service f/t, and we evac'd several hospitals before the storm hit. After the power was restored, we helped bring the patients back.
The worst hit was Galveston, and the Bolivar penninsula. There are still over 20 people still missing and presumed dead.
Oh, I get it. You have someone you work with that has Parkinsons.
Are they taking their meds? Do they have the obvious signs of the disease?
Details, details!!!
You treat the Parkinson's patient no differently than any other patient. You are there to help, aid, and assist. It doesn't matter what the disease process.
Maybe you can elaborate further on your question?
I too was on Lexapro for much the same reasons, and I found out the withdrawl symptoms left me feeling very disconnected. I am currently not on any meds, but if I were to go south again, I would not hesitate to do it again.
It really helps, and there should not be a sense of impropriety for...
A good mechanic makes all of the difference....here in Houston, it is mandatory that we have fully functional a/c. Luckily, we have just acquired a terrific new mechanic that really listens to us, and fixes the broken stuff.

I am currently formulating a plan to move back out to the Lone Star State....I am thinking of specifically the Houston area, as that is where She Who Must Be Obeyed is from. I need some info as to reciprocity, some possible job leads, etc.....Any info will be welcome and appreciated...
Erin,
Are you riding with Grady by chance?
I am so sorry to hear of your daughter. I am not sure if I would have kept it together like you have.
What school are you attending? My service does ridealongs as well....if you are on the southside, you might want to catch a ride with us.
Jeff
I am from the southside of Atlanta, and I too am I/85 certified. I work at a true "you call, we haul" service. I start medic school next week. I work on the firefighter schedule, 24 on, 48 off.
As a caregiver to both my parents, I sympathize with you. I am glad to see you view the positive in the situation. I am keeping you and your family in our thoughts and prayers, and I hope you find peace during this time.
Erin,
Before you go plunking down some big bucks for the pants and boots, check the local army/navy store. I know of a great one in Forest Park, on Main St. But since you live so dang close to Alabama, I am sure there might be a store or two that can help you out.
I paid something like $22...
We used Mosby's Prehospital Care, 7th edition. As far as resources go, you can use this forum for the majority of, if not all of your questions. These folks have really been helpful to me so far. And just to single one person, without insulting the other people on this BB, listen to RidRyder...
Cool....I am going back to Griffin Tech to get my paramedic this fall....You are in the 12 month class for EMT?
Don't sweat the NREMT. It is no more difficult than any final test you will have, just more comprehensive.
