I am willing to pay anything to have a new partner.

One with some common sense. Positive attitude (but not too positive). One who won't gripe about a call or try to refuse it. One who realizes its her 3rd day in this county, and she is still new to EMS, and to realize what her place is (not trying to change everything around here)

Also one who won't complain about EVERYTHING and won't hit on every cop. One that won't sit on her cell phone and talk for a hour to her "man" and then call a woman and call her sugar pie sweetie blah blah blah not even 5 seconds after she hangs up.

They let anybody in EMS don't they?

Well, it's not like the training is exceptionally hard or long.
Hey... they let lots of characters into MD and DO school too... and some of them even graduate. And then become medical directors... and then we have to listen to them... even if they are chuckle-heads. :D JP... just promise me you won't be one of them!

Hockey... if this person has only been around for a few days... maybe you'll be lucky and they will shoot themselves in the foot soon.

Oh like the resident who abandoned her patients and hysterically ran out of our clinic because her husband called and said their puppy was choking and he was taking it to the vet? And then called 911 to ask for a police escort?

You know, I just started working my first job where my title is actually "EMT-B", and I'm already getting a sense of the crappy partner thing. Can't wait to really get in to the field and be stuck with one person in a confined space for hours upon hours.

I'd be upset if my dog was choking too... but that's because I like my dogs more than I like most people.

I would do the same thing if my dog was choking. People suck, who cares about them? Dogs love you unconditionally.

But on topic... I might be willing to take your partner. Just a few questions...

1) Is she hot?

2) Is she single?

3) Does she hate herself enough that she'd actually date me?

If the answers are yes, we just might be in business.

Wasted questions man!

1) Subjective and will change directly proportionate to the intake of alcohol or reduction of ambient lighting.

2) HELLO, this is EMS, marital status has never applied!

3) See answer #1

she's all yours!

Hockey,

Seriously though, communication is key. Try it and see what her response is. If she is hostile or argumentative, step it up a bit and add some peer pressure. Or involve a supervisor. Let her know how you feel. If she is being unprofessional on the truck, you both can be viewed as unprofessional. Don't let your professional standards or reputation be tarnished cause of this twit. If she won't shape up, ship her arse out!

I have to write up an incident report because shes running her mouth telling EVERYBODY in EMS and everybody she comes across that I " backed up over" a police officer

Right...

Ya, I think what was posted above would be the best. Talk to her, then go up the chain of command from there. You took time to build your rep. so dont let it be ruined be her.

I am actually pretty confident that he will make a decent medical director.
As long as he doesnt make an offline protocol for lethal injection :p

The only people who get that protocol are my merry little band of EMT-Es. :D

And she's fired as of tomorrow

My 4 page typed report matches our paramedic deputy and police officers report of what happened. Hers doesn't

They figured so, but needed my "on the record" side of it. They said its being handled and she's gettin the boot
