What's your preferred shift?

24's in Austin...not so fun unless you're in rescue. :p

Lol they're good when we arnt in austin but in the county. One of my 24's is on the outskirts and the other is county. The outskirts one sucks and should be a 12 hour

looks like im the only who liked 48's...
since those are few and far between i think i like 12s on grave best...we do either (3) 10s and a 24, or (4) 12s a week.
or the very early 6a-6p because i like to get off early and still have some of my day left, typically we dont get busy until around 8 or 9 so its helps.

I would kill to find a single role or fire gig that was 48/96. But that shift would kill me where I am currently working

I like 48/96 scheduling. Or 24/48. I hate 168/168. The service I interviewed with today does 3/4 12s.

48 hours every 8 days? How does that work out?

Fantastically! Basically every few weeks I come up a pay period short, so we have "debit days" depending on how the debit day is scheduled I either work it or don't work and still get paid. This year I only have to do 5 paid debit days.

So your telling me you get to work less and make the same pay? Is your outfit hiring?

Yep, pretty much and my hourly rate is actully more than my previous job as well. I think we are, but only hire Paramedics.
Damn I need ti make a move to east Texas

Holy crap that is epic scheduling. Do you take commuters from San Antonio?

I do like the 2/2/3, but the best I think is Hall Ambulance's rotating 4/3 3/4 12-hour shifts. Oh, for California skies!

I'd much rather work their modified kelley, 48 on/48 off/ 48 on/ 48 off/ 48 on/ 8 days off.
Currently stuck on 96 on/72 off/72 on/96 off...

A huge amount of HFD lives in or around San Antonio and Austin. Or anywhere else that's not Houston... Lol

I worked a set 48 in Yakima, every Friday and Saturday. It worked great, letting me work a whole second job in my off time. While the 48 was brutal, the set schedule made up for it.

Oh that would be so nice. :)

@RocketMedic Hall ambulance also does 8s , 10s, starting at 6am to starting at 4pm. Those are easy peak cars. Along with the 12s that start at every hr.
12s also have a schedule that you can get every other Friday sat sun off but work every other Fri sat sun. Hard to explain.
24s are OXOXOXOXXXXOXOXOXOXXXXXX.. IT'S a mod Kelly. 4off every 4th and 6off the next.
Then our 48s are super nice. With 8 days off on the 3rd 48.
OOXXOOXXOOXXXXXXXX.
