If you've never been there, it's an amazing place to visit. It's one of the only hospitals right now dedicated to only Trauma. 24 hours a day they have amazing cases. I actually transported a patient there once by ground. It was about a 45 minute drive on I-95 with a priority 1 suspected spinal...
It's only 7 Troopers now, Trooper 8 was taken out of service. Trooper 8 served my area, now we have a long flight time with Trooper 2. From what I know it was because of the Trooper crash back in 2008.
But also look in Eagle 1,2 & 3 from the United States Park Police. They too are an amazing...
I don't know if you've guys heard of Chronicles of EMS or (EMS 2.0), but it' a great site that brings EMS providers together to talk about and bring about change of the EMS system.
Chronicles of EMS (CoEMS) is a reality series that takes a look at how social media and the EMS industry are...
Usually bring a backpack with me to the squad, extra clothes, laptop, iPod, Purell sanitizer, a book (The Lost Symbol), an a folder for papers & such and other little random stuff.
Basically what people before me said, read through your book ahead of time, it works. If you put enough effort into the class you won't have any problems. It's a huge learning experience, so try practicing as much as you can in and out of class. Meet with classmates at their stations if possible...
My class started with 30, went down to 17 at the end. People simply didn't try in my class, figured it was like high school or something. 5 people alone dropped after the first module. Then some people decided that they could miss a day or two, thinking there were no consequences. :glare:

Hmm, probably wasn't the brightest of idea's to put out that they were medics and even what company they work for!
Honestly I don't think it was necessary for him to be fired, but the fact that the medic put their info out there, ehh... it makes the company look unprofessional.
Thanks all for the help and advice. I guess I'll pick up a calculations book or something to study with for the next two weeks. I guess I'll just see how it goes! I just really suck at math, eh. I'm obviously going to be nervous with the interview but I'm sure I can hopefully pull it off.
I...
I have an interview at a hospital in two weeks for a patient care tech job since I have my EMT-B.
They told me it's two parts, first the Calculation Test which I need to pass with a 80% or higher, and secondly part two being a interview with a nurse.
I just need tips on both, I really...
All of you guys seriously need to loosen up. It's TV Entertainment, everyone has a fit over how the show portrays EMS, to the public's mind in the end "they save lives" that's all they see.
You guys nit pick every little thing, calling people sluts & such, it's ridiculous. Don't like it...
I know Trauma has it's problems with how EMS really is & protocols, but it IS TV entertainment, to me it's fun to watch regardless. I really wish there were shows that were some-what like the movie "Latter 49", showing things we do on off-time, training and so on.
Found this site a few months ago. Every Friday, they release a episode of ride-alongs with a fire department. They have already filmed 28 episodes with the San Francisco Fire Department a few months ago, and you can download and watch those now. They are all in HD.
Currently they are showing...
Yeah your right, 911: First Responders is technically Emergency 4.
I prefer Emergency 4 over Emergency because of the vast improvements, a lot of the features help you out a lot.
Don't forget to download and install the Los Angeles Mod v2.5 for Emergency 3!
Get it here...
Its a very fun game, I've been playing this since Emergency 3 has been out. Its been out for quite some time now. You have to install LA MOD 1.6 if you do get to play, it replaces all the missions and apparatus to American apparatus'. Particularly Los Angeles.
