I am a paramedic with around 8 years experience (3+ in 911 settings). I am accepting a travel paramedic position with Acadian Ambulance (Austin/Central Texas Region)
I am coming from out of state and know very little about the EMS system in Central TX. Can anyone shed light on how Acadian does...
I have found most schools in the central FL and I'm assuming other large metro areas that boast 98-99% pass rates on the first attempt, yet people fail because they neglect to study the necessary material.
Quick tip: Don't read your book .. for the most part the time spent in my Brady book...
Whether you are a brand new EMT in search of coveted 'healthcare experience', a prospective EMT/Paramedic student, or just need a new job. You might benefit from reading this post.
It has been discussed in depth about Transport EMTs, NEMT, and *sigh* 'chair taxi' drivers (moreover stretcher...
^Lmao
You definitely ruined your career...no one will ever understand how you, a responsible EMT, could ever get a speeding ticket.. going into what job would you ever break the rules of the road getting from place to place in a hurry. Oh yeah... driving an ambulance.
Hello all!
Almost through my medic program in Sanford, Florida. Finished up el verano de cardiology.. ACLS and megacode. check.
Thinking of moving on after medic and finishing my bachelors before I settle in at an agency. Currently working as a transport EMT.
Been doing some research in...

Sounds like a lot to...
The 'Higher education' system failed me, EMS saved me
Hello,
I find this thread very interesting. I have tossed around various ideas expressed by you all since I started my paramedic education.
I started my college education straight out of high school (like all the guidance counselors...
Considering many paramedics are practicing with only an Associates degree or less, I think that it should be allowed but the study be led by a physician. Any research studies should be led by those with bachelors degrees or higher.
I can sympathize. Doing my first venipuncture tomorrow, was just checked off on the skill in my paramedic program.
ED Tech and PCT are one in the same. Every hospital system has a different name for the employees who aren't nurses or doctors or any other clearly defined allied health...
Man, you need to think outside the box. And your EMT-B education has only taken you this far? lol ;) A resource based economy is where a EVERYONE works to produce the goods so EVERYONE can have clean water, food, and shelter. Sounds like socialism, right? Wrong, that is only your perspective...
Peter Joseph would have your head! I ought to save this and submit it to the movement. ...However, your last sentence just affirms to me that you need to learn about our economy and the way it works more than anyone here, and that is thoroughly explained. The idea of a resource based economy is...
Genuine godsend right here. Thank you blittle. Veneficus, maybe you need to do a little more research and think before you generate a conclusion based on thousands of different articles of scientific research that you haven't even read
Yes. That is very apparent.
It was my thought that more people on this forum and the general public, including employers, are beginning to see that what you do in your free time is not of another's concern.
Everyone must tame their emotional thought and health one way or another. Whether...
Before anyone posts another word. Go watch the Zeitgeist Movement documentaries by Peter Joseph. No, it has absolutely nothing to do with drug testing or EMS. Yet, it is the most factual and complete perspective of U.S society and culture to date.
You know, this began as a simple case where I presented the efficacy of using a blood test over urinalysis - to use blood over urine when proving someone's physical state at the time of an incident. Needless to say the maturity level in this forum can't handle any debate over marijuana, where...
This is ridiculous. Cannabis a cause of schizophrenia, virtually unheard of in the real world. And doing a search on PubMed and getting 75789 results does not prove your point 75789 different ways.
I am not condemning society, quite the contrary actually. Everyone that has immediately called...
Once again this forum continues to disappoint with the egotistical level of thought and close minded, uninformed responses. Yes any company has the right to mandate an investigation involving their employees, you signed up for it. Yes anyone can google search and find out that alcohol is more...
Why would an employee be cited for a DUI based on a positive urinalysis test for marijuana? I can't imagine that would hold up. No one urinalysis test is 100% accurate, the employee can easily refute the test and the employer is required to administer another or take it to court where the court...
