I don't seem to have access to delete a thread I made. I would like to take it down. Is there a moderator that would do it for me?
Thanks!:)

As a general rule, the mods don't delete threads on request.

Generally threads aren't deleted, but you can PM any moderators and ask for it to be deleted. Not sure if they will though.

Considering you've only posted in one other thread than this one, we're not going to delete that thread.

I would also like to take a moment to address this topic further.

Often, the CL's receive a request to remove a post or thread because the submitter obtained the information they desired. And that is good for them, because that is what we are here for. However, the threads/posts will remain simply because they may be of assistance to other members/guests in the future.

I also see that you don't let us delete our accounts either...

Why do you care? If you don't like it then just don't sign in...it's not a difficult concept. Not trying to be a **** but why is it a big deal?

I would ask a similar question, "why is it such a big deal that users don't delete their accounts." Both seem rather insignificant, wouldn't you agree?

"Not trying to be a ****"
... Not trying... so, if one doesn't try to be a .... that makes it okay.

Users have very limited control over their accounts. I wish that I would have never signed up. I had much informed and professional responses to my exact same thread elsewhere. Also, the ability to remove said thread and account as I liked.
I can only assume these rules were set in place because of a select few individuals who abused such abilities. Although, it could just be a typical type A personality control thing. Seems to be pretty rampant in the EMS circle.

I'm just making conjecture, nothing personal. :)

This seems standard policy for all the forums I am a member of. What you can do is edit them and delete the content. It won't erase things from places like Google that cache pages but it won't be available on this site.

Your welcome to leave at any time if you don't want to stay. If they deleted our posts it would leave some very odd sounding discussions. So for now don't post and we will all forget you ever existed here in a matter of minutes. Besides it was not like you posted the secret to life or even anything of intrinsic value that you are in need of protecting.

The other option is to keep whining and eventually you will be banned. Guess what though you would still not have your name or posts removed.

Make a choice now to stay and be a valuable member or leave and don't let the door hit you where the good lord split you on your way out.

Dude I just read your thread and I don't see what the big deal is. Seriously, edit...delete...done.

Edit is only good for a few minutes. So don't post something unless you are positive you want it here forever.

No kidding. See my first post. Even if the mods or admin deleted it from their servers it would still exist. So edit/delete and admin delete are tantamount to the same thing.

He is essentially asking for something he can do himself, which albeit is a little neater if the mods nuke the whole thing.

Actually he waited to long to edit so no he can not do it himself.

Correct. Members only have the ability to edit their post for 15 minutes after it is posted.

Our rules were in place when you signed up, and haven't changed since then...the same rules that you agreed to before you were allowed to join. If you chose not to read them or did and thought they didn't apply to you, then it is nobody's fault but your own.

As to the other forum you are referring to, that's the great thing about the internet. You will always be able to find somebody to tell you exactly what you want to hear. We are about discussion, not about stroking your ego and telling you what you want. Discussion, by it's very nature, implies that people will disagree with you.

As has been previously pointed out, you have three options:
1) Continue being a productive member of this forum
2) Leave this forum and never return of your own free will
3) I ban your account and ensure you can never return.
None of these three options involve removing your posts or your account, so which is it going to be?

Users have very limited control over their accounts.

You have the ultimate control over your account in the sense that only you can post under your name, a name which you choose when you registered. How much more control does someone need?
