<rant> Well I've gone and blown a gasket tonite. I can't stop thinking about this and its making me more upset the more it mulls through my head. I'm currently still on my Provisinal License from the State of SC. There are two ways I can get it perminent. One is taking my NREMTs the second was to take an I-85 class (I know, SC is behind in EMS they should have I-99s). I opted for the second choice. Unfortunatly for me I don't make enough to support myself and pay for the class ($275). My company wont reconize Intermediates thus they wont pay fo the class and the scholarship that I applyed for through the state fell through cause everyone else whos a basic in my company got wind of it and applyed too. 30 people 20 grants and I got the short end. If I had the money to pay for half (which is due tomorrow) I would but I can't. I feel like I hit a brick wall in my goals towards being a Paramdic. :( </rant>

Student Loan?

Loan Shark?

Do you HAVE to have the I85 to become a medic? In NY you can skip straight from basic to medic.

How much is the NREMT test? - any cheaper?

You could always put it on a credit card, and pay it off for the next 30 years at 30% intrest

South Carolina gives Grants to Rual area EMT-Bs to be I-85s because of the long transports to hospitals. Some crews out here spend an hour if not more sometimes transporting a person to the hospital.

Credit card is out. I already am paying one off when I used it to buy my books for college.

I can go strait to Medic school from Basic, I think everywhere you can. I jsut wanted some more experiance with starting INTs before I went and I need to get a permenant EMT license for SC.

I'm currently looking into when th next NREMT testing dates are and how much thats gonna cost me. I'll keep ya'll updated.

You can have my jar of pennies if it'll help.
I don't even have enough money to put gas into my car to get to my iv-tech class. I'm doomed too.

The test shouldn't be too bad, I only had to pay a $75 application process fee. (And traveling expenses) <_<
