Just wantid to introduce myself.

Welcome to the site!

When you're done with your class (or even right now) get your hands on a good Anatomy and Physiology book and study the hell out of it!

Ask plenty of questions and learn a lot here. It's a great resource!

Welcome.

EMT-B is pretty much advanced first aid. A good, solid foundation in biology and chemistry along with A&P will do wonders, especially if you go on to paramedic.

Actually can you recommend any other subjects and accompanying books as well?

I want to be the best I can be!

Sure! I comment you for seeking to advance!

Biology: I can't find the book I used (all I remember is it had a bunch of turtles in a question mark shape on the cover ), but any college-level general bio book should do. I strongly suggest reading and understanding this before going onto A&P!

Anatomy and Physiology: http://www.amazon.com/Human-Anatomy...5911/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1312861657&sr=8-4

Chemistry for the Life Sciences: http://www.amazon.com/General-Organ...=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1312862362&sr=1-1

Nutrition: http://www.amazon.com/Contemporary-...=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1312862553&sr=1-1

Psychology: Again, I can't remember the name of the book I used, but a good college-level psych book would be good.

I know this is a lot, and I don't expect you to do all this immediately or even at all. The most important in my opinion is the biology and the A&P.

Again, I commend you for wanting to learn. I hope this helps!

Eric

(P.S.: I'd try to take a lot of these classes at a local college instead of doing them yourself, but if that's not an option right now you'll still learn a lot by doing self study!)
