I'm confused w/licenses you need (CEVO 3)

I'm a little confused w/certain licenses you need to get employment as an EMT. When I was in class, we were told that we don't need a CDL driver's license. But, I contacted a hospital EMT contact & he told me that their looking for someone w/a CEVO 3 license. I'm not sure what it is or what to get it but he told me it's a license to drive an ambulance or something to that nature. Now exactly, what is this CEVO 3 license & where can I get it and also, should I go get a CDL license?

CEVO 3 is a class. Coaching the Emergency Vehicle Operator 3.

CEVO is not quite a license, but a training course, where you demonstrate proficiency through a written exam and optional observed driving (with an instructor).

I think it is offered through the National Safety Council.
