Has anyone seen any BDU types pants that zip off into shorts? If so, do you have a website or link as to where to buy them?

Thanks!

I've seen such pants designed as bike uniforms... usually nylon or other real lightweight fabrics.

Most of the ones I have seen are designed for hiking or other outdoors stuff. If you look hard enough you could probably find them in any color you need. I doubt you'll find ones with the special scissor holder on the cargo pocket that everyone in EMS gets hard over. Are you allowed to wear shorts with your uniform? Never heard of that before and don't know that I would want to if it was an option.

We are not allowed to wear shorts but for summer we were thinkin that we could use zip offs for doing station duties and what not and then zip back on for calls. Scissor pockets are not needed.

Look at an outdoors catelog like cabelas or something, I'm sure they have something that will work

You may be better off looking for FF duty shorts-- they will fit your need better, I presume...

Dan, that's what we do, if we're out shooting hoops or playing football we usually wear a pair of shorts that doesn't bunch up too bad if we have to throw our uniform pants on over the top quick.
