Chat Anyone?

There is an ability to incorporate real-time chat into the EMTLife discussion forum. Would anyone be interested in the option?

The problem is, it's really a group effort. A good handful of people would need to want to use it. I see a lot of websites that have them and are never used, but it's nice to have the option too. If I'm talking to someone in pm/email and they don't have the same msnger that I do, it's a good place to go.

I'd say yes because there always seems to be at least one person on the board. Heck, I'm on this frickin computer all day it seems anymore so I'm always available to chat. LOL

Set up an IRC server and run a java IRC thing off the site also allow user IRC clients to log in.

The local County Fire/EMS fourm has a chatroom, and they've started to do regular, pre-announced sessions on different hot topics. A neat idea.

That was my personal favorite idea, I'm all for IRC chat and the JPilot chat applet. I have a great chat that works with IPB though, and I'm going to try that one first (if we ever get to that point).
