both is good
Indiana lets you re-up (test out) to re-activate if you need to so you don't have to take a course, just the test, if I remember correctly. The you can recip, to other states, potentially. I maintain mine even though I practice in IA. I have IA, IN, and NREMT. I love certs...
Evidence and medical
Yes there is evidence and study on the topic and there are MEDICAL miracles... we talk about but give the credit to NOTHING and/or NO ONE. Could there be a bias... one that is against the patient?
We do non-medical things for the patient we deem medical.
EMS out of touch with patient
Throughout my research I found studies repeating the same theme, patients are concerned about religious things during emergent care. They actually want much more interaction about it at that time. One such study is sited below
Take it how you want and do with it...
Thank you
I continue to enjoy the comments and have learned quite a bit. I haven't seen much from the point-of-view I was hoping for, but am thankful all the same. My medical research is showing prayer and healing much more prevalent and relevant in the rest of the medical "industry" than in...
appreciation
I greatly appreciate everyone's reply so far and hope to get much more.
I realize we do procedures and administer drugs that have no science to prove long term success yet we still use them and if there is a God and the extensive battery of testimonies claiming healing and...
I am working on a term paper titled "The therapeutic value of prayer in the EMS system". Needless to say even though many paramedics pray on their calls and for their patients, I believe it should include "with patients" asked for, etc. I am also attempting to reveal the overall refusal to...
ADC is great
When I looked, everyone said Littman cuz, the doctor gives you a smile when you are driving the Rolls of scopes. However when I tested ADC, I heard better sounds, clearer. So I gained confidence that at least the ADC product quality was good. Then I went and got their new digital...
I agree
Mycrofft, I'm with you. Ventmedic, you must be one of the sadists. Vernt my man, I know you know what you are talking about, but my class wasn't filled with your statistically chosen student group. For whatever reason, I think the average IQ was in the top 5% nationally and a number...
Don't totally agree
I don't know what first-timers obtain from being totally freaked out. Not sure what achieving 90+ percentile failure rate does to promote professionalism. As I look back, it seemed to be fun/funny for the ones perpetrating the hazing. I was dropped into a situation we...
There's no sub for experience and there is never enough. However I do think the "2 yr programs" sound like 2 yrs, but aren't. They just span 2 yrs. Then how do you call enough? When you can hand the keys to a medic and expect perfect results? There has to be some line of "good enough" to get...
Fast isn't guaranteed to be bad
I know there's the back-and-forth about accelerated programs and the fact that the industry doesn't get much recognition (until you save the guys life). There's good defense for more schooling, but the other side of the coin is there are folks out there that...
