I'm finding this out. I'm gonna have to try and figure out another way for the students to experience these using "correct" simulation practice. Thanks for your reply!
We must have a newer stryker model because these problems arent on ours. Your comment does make me dislike ferno a little less. MOre than anything I have a problem with either of the companies selling a product that is this dangerous.
Thank you all for your responses. This is one thing that really aggrivates me. We have outstanding resources that the instructors are too stuck in their ways to realize the advantage of or too lazy to learn and as a result we are doing a serious disadvantage to our students.
Has anyone...
How often is the use of high-fidelity simulators used or were used in your paramedic programs i.e. Simman 3g? How has the response been? If not and the resources did ya'll have, what were the barriers?
I am faculty at a local CC and we have a great simlab shared with the nursing program...
That really will be a cool study. All my cardiac arrests get a SGA and IO. I got more important stuff to do than worry about than an ET tube and IO's are as effective as central lines. (download the EasyIO app and they have a fluroscope video of contrast fluid going through a humeral IO. It...
It is one of the only steam-lined process that dshs has. Like the previous posters said, just submit an app with finger prints and background check, then magically you receive your card a few weeks later. You can also do a live certification check on the dshs website to see if you have been...
I dont know what model but it is their newest self-loading power stretcher.
The design issues I am talking about are with their older, manual stretchers. When lifting the stretcher from ground level, both people pull to chest height and the wheel base is supposed to drop and lock. This...
I didn't personally see it in use but our department got a demo with what I think this video is showing and my coworkers were really impressed. Apparently the ferno rep did dips with the stretcher fully extended out the back and it was solid. From what I heard this product has been in the...
Anyone have any experience with Wilco? Interested in applying. I've heard it is competitive/ any tips? i.e. what to study, what they are looking for, etc...?
I've heard good things but not alot. Good place to work?
Icee or cheetos when they do good, snide sarcastic subtle but belittling remarks when they do bad. It is proudly how I got to where I am now. Still cry at night sometimes but they say we are stronger for it. God, I loved the cheetos
To jrm818... Besides the obvious ami/cva/asthma pts you mentioned, look at ARDS net and surviving sepsis campaign. These are two that recognize the benefits of early interventions and suggested their role in prehospital care. When it comes to trauma, I don't fully agree with Bledsoe's recent...
