What Makes A Good Company-Los Angeles

I'm an ops manager at a Los Angeles private ambulance company (over 100 field employees). We do IFT's, Dialysis, and "urgent" SNF calls. I have been reading many of the posts here and see a lot of the stories about the bad companies. I'm interested in what makes a company "good". I'm trying to create a workplace that EMT's want to work in, management and EMT's respect each other, there is a lot of professionalism and low turn-over. We do a lot of dialysis, long hours, and we don't always get an uninterrupted lunch. Those things don't change. What are your issues and ideas? What is your perfect company? Serious replies please...thanks!

Just showing an interest like you have goes along way.

Keep the ambulances looking nice and crew uniforms nice.

Sadly with the pay EMTs get it is always a high turn over. There are very few companies where the pay will make employees stay.

Don't make up documents and lie to insurance companies to get more money.

As an ops manager visit with the crews often and see what they like and don't like. Employee feedback will help a lot with problems within the company.
