I work here in socal and i responded to a TC just yesterday. Noticed the driver was only c-collared and not back boarded. She did have neck, back, and chest pain.

I am just wondering why the fire department opted not to do so.

They have broken the mold and realized it's 2015, boards don't work.

Places in SoCal are now allowed to do modified C-Spine by just using a C-Collar.

Strapping a normally curved spine onto a flap piece of plastic doesn't work and causes more issues.
