Hey what's up everyone? I've been lurking for a while and I just now decided to register. I went to the UCLA EMT course and graduated in December. I just got hired with CARE Ambulance here in LA. From what I hear, there are a few CARE's around so I wil clarify.. The CARE I work for operates in both LA and OC working 911 with the fire department. They are also international.

I look forward to being a contributing member of these forums

Are you the same Kevin that I talked to near Chipotle in Pasadena (the guy in the Warriors jersey from San Mateo)?

Well I'd like to say welcome as well but I am new to this forum myself. But I must say I am jealous that you got a job so soon after graduating your emt course. A 911 service no less!!! I got my EMT-B license last July an have turned in numerous applications and have yet to find a job. =( And thats just IFT companies! Can't find a 911 gig to save my life! Its actually really upsetting. But Congratulations on joining this forum (=

I submitted about 5 applications, all of them being IFT companies except CARE. I got replies back from 3 IFT companies: Lynch, Americare, and Priority One. When CARE e-mailed me back, I held out for them. The interview process was insane for CARE. We did a 50 question NREMT style test, NREMT style skills testing, a written essay on a random question, and a three person panel interview with an Operations Manager, and two Field Training Officers. The questions in the interview were really difficult too...

They e-mailed me a couple days later informing me I got the job. While i was interviewing, there were about 13-15 other people interviewing with me. Not sure how many they were looking to hire/hired.

It's actually really cool I got the job with them, I did my ride alongs with them and I remember telling myself I wanted to work for them. Since then I made it a goal to get in with CARE. You'll find something Thrice. Try Lynch, Americare, AMR, Shaefer, PRN, Priority One, The Doctors Ambulance, Huntington Ambulance Co., McCormick, Gerber... If you keep applying, you're bound to get something. Like I said in my other post, Lynch, Americare, and Priority one e-mailed me back the next day after submitting an online application. They even called me and left me a voicemail about setting up an interview. You will get something! ;)

Hello

Brown here, just a warning - watch out for crazy Brown who runs around in a London orange jumpsuit with 'DOCTOR' written on the back, swanning out the sky in a large red helicopter.

Brown away,
