Mesa FD Community Paramedic Program

Read this in the paper this morning and found it super interesting. I've been a saying that mid-levels should be in EMS for a long time, and it looks like that model is finally being tested. Thoughts?

That sounds like a fantastic program,and I hope it works well.
However,being a political issue ,I can see it taking many years to implement and work its way throughout the country.

There was a member of the Mesa FD that came to a conference that my medic program attended. From what he was saying it sounded like it was going to be a huge improvement.

He said they will routinely make contact with a patient's PCP on 911 calls. If the patient didn't need to be transported they would check up on them several hours later to make sure the patient is still doing ok.
