Hi I have an interview next week with AMR in San Benito county. I'm really excited and nervous. I really want this. Any advice to ace my interview?
 
Drink some scotch before you go in.

*Disclaimer: that was a joke, do not drink scotch before your interview*

Just be normal. Shake hands, look people in the eye, answer honestly. At this point you have proven that you can do the job, now they just want to know if they can stand being around you for 40-60 hours a week. I always look up a company's mission statement before an interview and try to work in some buzzwords without sounding like a douche if possible.
 
I may know a guy who seemed to have done a bit better on interviews when a little alcohol was on board.

I have no idea about AMR San Benito, but most private EMS systems tend to conduct their hiring process in a similar fashion.

Be professional- but be yourself. Employers can often tell when you are not being genuine, and that sets off a red flag. Dress professional. Style hair appropriately. I'm not saying go get a fancy updo- but don't do a basic pony tail or messy bun. Make eye contact. Try to avoid conversation fillers such as "um, uh, like". Be honest. They have already conducted a background check, and called your references. So if they ask you about something- they already know. So don't lie about it. I also STRONGLY recommend getting your hands on a copy of their protocols and reading through them.

Basic questions I have been asked in just about every fire/EMS position is " What makes you the best candidate for this position" , " What is one area or skill you think you have room for improvement on " , " if after a call you realize you made a mistake, how would you go about it" , " How do you feel an employees attitude directly effects this department/company ", " What are 3 strengths and 3 weaknesses".

For the best candidate for this position question, be sincere but not cocky. Even if you have zero experience you can turn this question into a positive such as " Although I have no EMS experience, I feel that a strength I have is working with a variety of people under situations that can be often stressful. I have also reviewed your protocols and feel confident I could provide excellent patient care."

just be professional but relaxed. Remember you work with people every day in EMS and they are going to be assessing your people skills in your interview.

Oh I actually didn't think about that. That's true they'll be assessing my people skills. It shudnt be difficult its just nerves that get the best of me. Thank you so much for this
