anyone work in Indiana? I lived there my whole life and moved to Texas about 3 years ago. Time to get back home!

I'm curious about the Indianapolis area mostly but would move anywhere in Indiana. I'm trying to find out if most conpanies work 24hrs (hopefully) and what the pay is like. Tried looking on google with no real luck.

Thanks

City of Indianapolis runs a third service EMS agency. By all accounts they're pretty good and not bad to work for

Yeah that's who I'm looking at, I hear they start around 29k. That's what the company I work for here pays but that's on a 12 he truck. On a 24 it's like 43k.

Was hoping that they work 24s lol

Indianapolis also has a bunch of Private services: When I worked there, there was 9 plus a few that worked into Indy from outlying areas. Funny thing here, Salt Lake City (roughly same population as Marion County but larger land area) has 1 private service

IEMS (the previously mentioned city of Indy 3rd service) is a good place to be. PM if you want more info. It's all 12s now though, 24s went away last year.

IEMS also as of July 3rd is bumping initial pay to 14.50 per hour for EMTs. Like Atlas said it's all 12's, but from what I've seen, there's plenty of opportunity for overtime.
I know there's a few random townships that hire civilian ems, I think Wayne fire and Decatur fire on the west side and near Westside hire civilian ems...I know they hire medics, don't know for sure about emt. Not positive on their starting pay.

Edit: on my phone, so I missed the fact that you're a medic...if you get hired onto IEMS as a medic, I think starting pay will jump to 19.50 as of July 3rd.

City of Lawrence FD also hires medics & EMTs. I think (not positive) that they hire part-time, not sure how long or what it takes to be full-time there.
