B) Hey Everyone;)

Just wanted to introduce myself.
My name is Rachael, andi'm from Ohio. I'm currently an EMT-B Student. I go or N.R.E.M.T in May.
I've been reading the forums for a bit and enjoy the anecdotes and scenarios that people post, it's interesting trying to decide how I would approach those situations. Any tips for keeping my EMS skills up, would be great!

I won't say good luck on your testing...how about Break a Leg.

I'm from just up I-75 from you... well a few hours anyway, in Toledo. I just passed my NREMT last month and just got my Ohio card today :)

An interesting sidenote... My best friend's name is Rachel, and she collects frogs...AND... I used to live in Fairborn... My employer (for the next month and a half) is in Beavercreek.

Well... I've applied with Lifestar, Medcorp, Rumpf, and Promedica... All private companies. No volunteer FF opportunities for me, unfortunately... No civil service exams coming up for Toledo as far as I know.

I do have an interview with Medcorp tomorrow (crosses fingers)... Largest EMS/transport company in the state according to them.

I'm a little nervous :)

Well, they offered me a job... FOR 7.50/HR!!!! There's no way I can afford to work for them... So I'm holding out for the other service to call me... They basically told me that I'd have to work a day car for a few months before I'd get on a 24/48 hr EMS vehicle... I wish I was in a position to do it... financially I mean... I just can't... Hubby and I are losing our jobs in a month, and I could make more than 7.50/hr at McDonalds for God's sake...

Ugh... Frustration.

How's the class going?

Yeah i know what you mean. I hope all works out for you! I know i've been having some problems trying to get on with a dept right now. I need to do some clincial time, and it's so impossible. I know here in the dayton area, alot of the depts are cutting back. IT SUXS lol.

I know it's frustrating. My husband just lost his job last monday. Now he's working at McDonalds now. :P I think the work field right now's bad. From what i'm looking, everyone's loosing there jobs....

Class is going alright, like i said i'm having some trouble getting on with a dept for clincial time. You know hospital time was so much easier lol...then this. Over all though i love the class. I love working with people.

Do you have AIM or MSN by chance?
