as I'm new around here I just want to introduce myself

my name is bernhard

at first I have to appologize for my "english", but since I'm an Austrian without long term experiences in english-speaking countries my school knowledge has to do it.

currently I'm studing medcin in the wonderful city "Graz" (~200 000 inhabitants = 2nd lagrest town in Austria) and volunteer BLS for our local EMS-provider. down here a great part of EMS-care is done by volunteers.

In Austria all prehospital-ALS is done by doctors(/emergency physicians). even the highest level of ALS-paramedic education only allowes to use very few drugs and diagnostic possibilities, if they're at the scene before the doc.
in association with the EMS-provider my university offers a great opportunity for volunteers to "grow" into the role of the emergency physician.

Well, quite a lot for the beginning, hope I didn't bore you....

looking forward to read from you!

Welcome! The system you're in sounds interesting. Feel free to take photos & share with the rest of us. :)

I've always wanted to visit Austria. Good beer there.

:) :) :) Welcome!!! :) :) :)

Welcome!

I had a five paragraph question / discussion respond typed out, but I lost it when I accidently closed the browser.

It's good to have you, and I hope you stick around!

thank you for your warm welcome! :)

since our two countries handle EMS/public health care very differently, there will be many questions. I hope I can answer all of them correctly...

I have to admit, that I'm very interested in US-EMS since I started my "career" hope I will get the answers around here

We love photos. If you have photos of equipment, you guys in uniform, the fire station, or anything else you think is interesting, we'd love to see it.

Photos are great! :-)

hi,

since I'm on for only one 12h shift every week, you'll have to wait a little bit for more stuff, but here's one official pic of our ALS-truck
