Depends on where in New York; pretty much every community college will teach it, and some four year colleges teach it as well (if you're coming here for school). Full disclosure however, EMT in NY is only a state certificate and many classes outside of NYC are not nationally accredited (cannot speak for NYC), so National Registry can be tricky to get; also, NY EMS education is commonly not easily transferable to different states unless they are immediate neighbors (NY likes to burn bridges...). Personally, unless you really want to stay in NY, I would find another state to take EMT in (Massachusetts, Vermont, Pennsylvania).
