My local fire house built a new station about 2 years ago and the old station has been siting vacant/storage since. I got a community newsletter today that if anyone local is interested in EMS/Fire then they should call or apply as the second station is being re-opened soon and they are looking for ppl they can hire or train. They are offering paid training for fire and emts, and for "those showing apptitude" they are offering paramedic training as well. other oppertunities will be swiftwater/dive rescue, confined space/ rope rescue, and instructor training is also on the plate.
Im very excited and already left a voice mail with the chief as I am just weeks from my NREMT-B test and with that and community locals getting first pick I hope it works out for me. I was looking for my shot into the scene and this may be it. Wish me luck!
