Hello EMS world. I'm a freshly certified EMT and I'm desperately looking to start my career. I've heard of places hiring EMT's for events or private companies such as casinos or raceways. Any advice on where to look? I'm in currently in Temecula, CA. Any advice helps!

A lot of events in SoCal are handled by 911 ambulance companies (in riverside county it's pretty much only AMR who does events). Symons Event Safety in Devore, CA is an event company. They handle some events in riverside county, San Bernardino county, LA/OC county, and several other counties. You have to be 21 years old in order to drive their ambulance (as of 3 years ago).

I know there is another company in the riverside/San Bernardino area that does events but I don't remember the name right now.

Many of the local raceways have contracts with the 911 ambulance company that covers the area.

Morongo Casino in Cabazon hires EMTs, they just hired a couple of people a month ago. I have heard of other casinos hiring EMTs but once again I am not sure which ones.

Thanks for the reply. I see a lot of newly certified guys and gals having trouble finding their first job down here in RivCo. I'll certainly have to look into Morongo. I know we have several IFT companies in the area too, but from what I've read in the forums, few if any are willing to hire without at least some form of experience.

Most companies IFT and 911 will hire fresh out of school EMTs. The main issue is that CA has a crap load of EMTs so most places have waitlists. If you want to work at an IFT company, put in applications. If you want to work at a 911 company, put in an application. AMR riverside county and San Bernardino county have consistantly been hiring EMTs and medics for quite a while.

Intrafacility Transpot. At BLS level, most are non emeregrnt. At ALS/CCT most are nonemergent with occasional emergant

Google stand by medical, I saw a couple of companies that have emts stand by for special events and concerts. Also you can do what I do, stand by medical for construction projects and industry. Most the time you are a safety extender who has medical roles. Just make sure that you operate under medical direction and practice within your scope. DO YOUR RESEARCH to maintain compliance.
