Hi guys
My name is oleg, and I am currently enrolled in an EMT-B certification class. I have been actively trying to search out everything that I can do with the EMT certificate. I know I can work on an ambulance or in the ER. I was wondering if there is anything else that you guys know of that I can do with this.

Thanks

Seriously, not much. It's just above an first aid course. Many security companies hire EMT's at Casino's, racetracks, etc.. or clinics as a tech. Most oil companies off shore rigs, coal mines, industries now require Paramedic level.

A lot of what is available also depends upon where you are located.

And welcome to EMTLife.com!!

I use my EMT-B certification to fill out the space in my wallet that used to be filled with credit cards.

Ha, I know how that feels.

I've found that it's a lot more difficult to get hired than I originally thought. I'm not trying to discourage you, or change your mind - I definitely don't regret going through EMT school. But don't be like me and think it's going to be like nursing, where there's a shortage practically everywhere. You have to make yourself competitive with the surplus of EMT-Bs out there all vying for the same position.

Very good points! Remember, every 16 weeks there is the approximately the same number of students that was in your class coming out. Yes, we have flooded the market with Basic EMTs, as well many places no longer desires them.

So one has to be "better" and more presentable than others. Be sure to shine on clinicals!

Welcome to the tribe!! Where are you taking your classes? :)

You can always become a volunteer & not make it your livelihood.

Volunteering makes you feel good!
