I'm on my way to the career of an EMT B and wanted to know could I jump into being a instructor do I have to take a another class what are the requirements/ qualifications
It probably depends on each state's rules and regulations. I was told for here in Virginia you have to have at least two years experience as an EMT-B, then take the certifying exam and complete the paperwork.
For my EMT program if you want to be a skills instructor you have to be state certified and pass a volunteer portion. They are pushing us all to get our associates degree so that our pay will jump up by a lot (and I mean a lot).
To be a primary instructor you have to be a paramedic with at least 2 years of 911 experience, associates degree, and some special teaching classes.
