So I found out that you have to be 16 to become a certified first responder and I was thinking about doing it (my b-day is in a little more than a month!)...so I was wondering what exactly are the things I could do? I thought it would be a good start to my career and all....so ya :D anyone from Oregon would really help but I would love everyones input too!!! So don't by shy!!!

Ps...I was going to do the CERT class but just don't have time for this session (it started last Thursday)

I'd definitely do the MFR class over the CERT class. The MFR is a respectable class that will give you a good foundation of EMS knowledge.

I've learned the course content informally through friends, but am yet to actually get the certification, so I'll be doing that in January hopefully. From others' advice, brush up a bit on anatomy and physiology (I've got an anatomy colouring book, which seems stupid, but actually does help in learning). Also, make sure you review your notes between sessions.
