California SB3 wage law

So has anyone been following this? Apparently employees with a collective bargaining agreement in place with their employer, who work on a 24 hour shift must be paid either daily overtime or 30% more than minimum wage.

My division just bumped every EMT to $14.30 an hour because it's 30% more than the minimum wage.

Seems the article in question is Section 3H. It looks like it doesn't specify whether it's new or not. I'm wondering why my employer did this now if this has actually been an existing law

sounds much better than the minimum wage I hear is common among many EMTs.

So this hasn't affected anyone else in California?

Not us. Our 24 and 48 hour shifts have always had built in overtime.

It looks like this has been a law since 2000. I wonder why it's only taking effect now.

Cause California... thats why.
