CA Ambulance test

No riverside doesn't have it. For riverside it's just the normal EMT-Basic. I heard that the reason that LA county has the extended scope is due to the fact that they don't run medics on their rigs. Fire covers the medic portion. I applied for a company in the OC and they didn't mention anything about the extended scope in any of the paperwork nor at the interview.

well i guess ill find out when i go. wouldn't hurt, it would count towards CE so might as well.

All Attendants, including those who drive, shall be required to possess a current and valid OCEMS EMT Accreditation / Attendant certificate whenever performing as an ambulance driver or attendant in Orange County except in the following circumstances:

1. An EMT may practice as a second EMT on an ambulance within Orange County with the limitations of the State basic scope of practice for a period of up to thirty (30) days while awaiting issuance of OCEMS EMT Accreditation.

OCEMS Accreditation was introduced last year and became mandatory on January 1st this year.

i didnt know that. so california got rid of the EMT-I. and made the Basic a statewide cert not a county. but to work in some counties in california you have to have the extended scope of practice. weird but alright
