When I interviewed in Austin for SE TX, they told me that in Austin they primarily run IFT, so I'd bet SNF to dialysis, or SNF to hospital, or ED/Hospital discharges. That kind of thing.

Are you more concerned about they pay or running 911? Acadian does pay well compared to the 911 services that hire basics, and if you have no 911 experience it is a good place to start. Just showing some level of experience will help you get hired on to a 911 service in the future. Many of the surrounding counties also have volunteer/combination fire departments where you can get some 911 experience and get your name out there with the EMS service. As far as Acadian goes, the biggest issue that I've heard is about their micro-managing of their employees.

They run pre-scheduled calls only, they have contracts with nursing homes, hospitals to return patients back to nursing homes and that sort of thing. They pay well for a private company.

Acadian in Austin is primarily nonemergent calls. Acadian in San Antonio however has the Bexar County 911 contract along with 10-12 city contracts for the smaller cities in Bexar County.
