welcome! good luck with all of your applications! Its always great when the police or first responders on scene know what they're doing in a medical emergency.
Facebook
someone should make an EMTLife facebook group, or post in all of the ems related facebook groups advertising the forum, some of the EMT groups on facebook have thousands of members!
III's vs. II's
I started my EMS career in type 2's and im never going back! The amount of room and space for storing equipment, turnout, etc. is very important to me, Also, if I was a patient I wouldn't want 2 cramped emt's hovering right on top of me in a van, Id much prefer to have some...

ectasy
in response to the comment about ecstasy, when I was in high school we had a drug education program where we were shown scans of an ecstasy user's brain. It looked like swiss cheese and still people joked about it. Its sad that nothing gets through to some people.
chips

meds
I definitely think that more education about meds would come in handy. The medics always pay very close attention to what meds a patient is on, and i see no reason why emt-b's shouldn't understand most common meds and their effects on our patients.
ride-along
hey, a good idea in addition to taking some first aid or CPR courses would be to ride along with a local ambulance company or volunteer squad and get a feel for what working a shift , and seeing calls in the field is like. I rode along with a local squad before starting my training...
