    lee county ems testing

Florida? I mean it's the state that went to NR and then back to their stupid easy state test because of a high failure rate. So FL test takers might not be the best barometer of how hard a test is.

Elevated CK as Contraindication for Succs?

I saw this a few months back when I was putting together a lecture on RSI for my agency. That and patients with MG were too I hadn't heard much of, but there's mentions of in literature.

I worked middle of nowhere in west Texas... I like being at least less than an hour from civilization... but I would happily move to the mountains around Ruidoso NM

    Question About Lapsed Certification

I always thought that if you were more than one recert cycle expired you had to redo the initial class.

The drive from SETX to ABQ is a very long one... and we get to do it in reverse tomorrow lol. But my bride to be is a beast. A mile or more hiking in heels for our engagement shoot today and she didn't complain once and usually outpaced me

    Dallas Area Paramedic Pay

Not all of TX has low pay like that. I clear 60k w/ no extra OT except mandatory M&Ms and training. The nice part is no state income tax, though.

    Good transport services?

That's my dream job if I ever go back to doing just high acuity transfer... and the fiance agreed to move that far north. Leadership is a great group of people there (That I met through unrelated things as well)

    Dallas Area Paramedic Pay

Damn I didn't realize DFW metroplex pay was that much lower than most 911 services in the Houston Metro, not even counting the transfer services

Basics Give Tylenol and Zofran now?!

Lol I've been in EMS for 13, 14 years... And when I did my initial EMT-B training in NM we could draw and administer Epi, give duonebs, and give APAP and ASA. In some states that's unheard of.

Has anyone here performed and in field eschorotomy??

When I worked in deep west Texas it was the only skill we actually had to call for orders prior to doing. And it’s the one skill I have only ever practiced on cadavers.

Basics Give Tylenol and Zofran now?!

What’s the problem with this? Granted I think the entry level needs to be aemt or equivalent, but there’s not anything bad about this

    New England EMS

I love the medicine in Texas. And I love the fact that I work as a municipal third service paramedic... but some of the attitudes out here, especially in a smaller city like I live in, are annoying. And outright exclusive if you're not from the area. I do like the Houston metro, and once I get...

    New England EMS

That's how I am on a regular basis... And with local drama, I've damn near got the fiance to get over her snow aversion and go back to the northeast

EMTs and Paramedics in the Hospitals

I have worked both as a tech and an ER Paramedic since I got my medic license. As an ER Paramedic I had my own patient load, did assessments, passed meds, started lines and labs, and generally did most of the same thing as nurses plus kept our full medic scope (technically including intubation...
