My CC course was approx 70 3-hour classroom sessions (2x a week over 9 months), plus clinical. I think 75 ambulance, 24 ER, 8 CCU, 12 IV, 8 Peds, 4 OR, 4 Medical Control, maybe a little more
Well, im not registered to an agency, but mohawk ambulance corps hires just about anybody i've heard. Is critical care emt in NYS considered AEMT? I for one get confused with national certs and state certs and how they equivocate. How long was cc-cert after basic school?

Critical Care is odd in NY in that it is not used in every region. Nassau and Suffolk use it extensively, as do some counties upstate, but it's hit or miss. Best to check in the region you'll be working
I am going to be graduating with my EMT-B cert for NYS. For the life of me i cannot understand upgrading certs and reciprocation(i live in NJ but go to school in NY) with NY. Could you maybe shed some light on the process/road after getting your EMT-B cert to becoming an AEMT in NY. Thank you in advance !!

I live in and work in NY, so I haven't had to worry about anything with reciprocity. I know that NY has a procedure for reciprocity with another state but not straight up with NR

Do you operate for a NY agency while you're here?

As far as the AEMT, right now I just have the Critical Care at the NY level, but nothing nationally. In NY, courses up to this level are free of charge to verified members of a NYS EMS agency
Hey, You are also from NY i have a question maybe i can bounce off of you ?? its specific to NY and you seem like the appropriate person :)! Thank you!
