    Lowering the Bar

Here is how I look at it. We as EMT's are responsible for the well being of our patients. Thus, we should know what we are doing. Allowing multiple mistakes and irresponsibility like this school does (as the original poster stated) is setting future EMT's up for failure and possible patient...

    The Official EMTLIFE Introduction Thread

That's the beauty of having a massive knowledge base based upon experience. There can be many solutions (ways of doing things) that can be correct. Thank you Hunter for the warm welcome. Hopefully one day I will be able to add my advice after being in the profession for a bit and carry on the...

    geratric fall

To me, there doesn't seem to be enough information to cause me to believe that there is a spinal injury. Did the patient fall sideways, back, forward, etc? Depending on how she fell would give you a better understanding of what parts of the body have been affected. Just my thoughts on the...

    Military reserve questions.

When I was enlisted in the army, I wanted to change my MOS to 68W series. From what I could find out, the Army is willing to enlist and also pay some of your education costs back to you if you have any certificates/degrees in the medical field and you go into a medical mos. I don't know much...

    What books did you use?

I'm currently taking the EMT-B class as well, we are using Brady's Emergency Care 12th Ed. Personally, the book is alright, there are times I have to ask my class mates if they understood something that I didn't. I am more of a hands on learner, so the labs are where I learn the best.

    More classes for EMTs?

Additional classes for an EMT-B I believe you can start towards your ALS classes and certs by taking an IV cert class, EKG cert class, and any classes having to do with specialized scenes, such as additional pediatric trauma courses, EMT-Tactical for law enforcement and military, stuff like...
