Currently I am in medic school, about to start the last semester which consists almost completely of in hospital clinicals and then field internship.
The school i am attending is what many of you will call a medic mill, and while i am getting college credit hours for it, i will not be obtaining a degree.

Im trying to find ways of furthering my education with at least an associates degree in my future. Ive contemplated going to a local college and getting my RN, but, but i really have no want to work in hospital. I know it would be benificial if i ever wanted to do CCT's, but im not really sure thats what i want to end up doing.

Are there any other degree programs that would be benificial to further my education in EMS? Or would i be better off taking more general classes such as A&P, pharmacology etc.?

Take general classes first. A&P, chem, micro, basically courses you would take for a BS in Bio. It will give you a much better understanding and appreciation for what you learn in medic class (of course, having those before medic would be ideal). After that, if you aren't driven to leave the field of EMS ;) there are some BS courses scattered around the country that will increase your medical knowledge. A good one that comes to mind is a BS program out of UT Health Science Center in San Antonio. http://www.uthscsa.edu/shp/ehs/bachelor.asp
Also, go to as many classes and conferences as you can. Hopefully whatever system you get on with is cool and will send you. One of my systems will send me to whatever course I want to go to, pay for the course, and pay me while I'm there x)
