Any UMDNJ people here? My question is does UMDNJ EMS train EMTs to become paramedics then promote within department? I currently work FDNY EMS that offers the medicbasic program but you have to work as an FDNY Paramedic for 3 years to pay back the education. Wondering if any places in Jersey such as UMDNJ offers something like that.

They do not pay you to become a medic like fdny does. They sponsor you in a program that you pay for.

nowhere in NJ will they pay for you to attend paramedic school.

UMDNJ, MONOC, RWJUH, JCMC, and most hospital based EMS systems in NJ will reimburse your tuition expenses for paramedic school, provided you work full time for them and meet the requirements they put forth for the hospitals tuition reimbursement program
