Hi all, just wanted to pop in and say hi, so I wouldn't feel like the incredi-lurker.

I start EMT-B classes on Wednesday the 21st. I found this site burning off nervous energy and it has really helped to ease some of my worries, so I thought I'd join up and say thanks. :)

Well...another fish has bitten the hook and is being hauled out of the water!

It'll go like this. within a week you will know weather you like it or hate it. If you hate it, you'll be gone as soon as class is over, if not before. If you like it, you will finish class, find you almost can't live w/o your card, get you card, start riding as a trainee, and suddenly find yourself addicted. A person who everyone else thinks is crazy, who cannot talk about their day at work at the table. (Then you come here an tell us. I'll probably be revewing the trauma chapter or my textbook ar watching "Trauma: Life in the ER" during dinner.) Then we (more addicted, crazy, shuned at the table people) all come running over to the computer to read those "eeeeeew! Dont tell that around me" stories.

Heh, you are defiantly not the first, as I did the exact same thing. Welcome aboard, from another newbie.

Thanks very much for the welcome. I had my orientation today. (Class starts on Wednesday.) We went over all the basic 'whats expected of us' stuff and I got my first glimpse of the book... *whew*. I feel a little overwhelmed. I can't really see myself hating it. I've always done some sort of healthcare. Mainly direct care stuff. I was looking for something a bit more challenging and way more exciting.... I think I might have found it. Lol.

I'm excited! I'm glad I found people to talk to. My parents are sure I'm crazy. :P
