Stumped on this one

I'm trying to find the answer to this... my AEMT teacher opened this can of worms and it's bugging me that I can't find the answer.

What is the "order" (i.e. fraternity, society, etc.) of the actual originators of EMS? Apparently they started in France but have also done a lot of work in England... It should be a pretty basic name (not like a foreign name or anything...it's a name that could be used for a "mascot")... If you could please help me I would greatly appreciate it!!!
