I was 53 when I went to EMT school at Daniel Freeman (UCLA). I worked a year in the field and in nine days I'll turn 54 years old. And in three days I'm starting a Paramedic Prep Course.
The hardest part of being our age in EMS is putting up with your twenty something partners . . .
And don't listen to the gym rats. You don't need muscles as much as you need brains. So go for it! Develop your "critical thinking" and lean on your maturity. It's not a liability, it's a benefit!
