Helloooooo

Looking for some ideas for additional training classes..

and before it begins, ive done a search and got a couple ideas from that but im looking for some fresh perspective.

by the end of medic class I will have completed ACLS, PALS, PHTLS, and GEMS.

Also, I am currently working on completing HAZMAT Awareness, Op's, and Tech.

I also intend to obtain FF I and II post medic class.

As for my interests, I'm interested in Wilderness/Disaster Medicine and Advanced Rescue stuff.

I am specifically interested in classes that have a certification upon completion to use as a resume builder.
I am located in Missouri.

Thanks a ton,
Adam

Do you want classes that pertain to medicine, or firefighting?

Could always do PEPP and AMLS.

both imo

ASLS, ABLS, AMLS, CCEMT-P, audit an ATLS class if you get the chance.

I really enjoyed the Basic Disaster Life Support class I took from the National Disaster Life Support Foundation, a partnership between the American Medical Association and several academic centers. It is an all-hazards class and does a good job covering CBRNE stuff. Mine was taught mostly by an ED physician. You can also take their Advanced Disaster Life support course and a course on Decon. I know the local DMAT/NMRT (one of 3 NMRTs in the country) utilizes the ADLS class for their members.

Not sure how your state is for driver licenses but I would consider an Emergency Vehicle Operators Course if you have not already had one. My first company I worked for in the 80's required it and sent us on their dime. Covered emergency driving in class and behind the wheel on a closed course. In our class we were in an Ambulance and when others where doing the driving part you had to rotate as a patient on the stretcher and as the EMT treating the patient. Really was an eye opener for some people when they felt what a patient feels on that track. Especially the skind pad and the last second turns.
