Which should I read first? Is one going to give me a better foundation for the other?

They are very different books. Robbins is going to be just straight pathology and disease processes. It is difficult for me to imagine sitting down and just reading through Robbins. Tintinallis is a great emergency medicine textbook with much more clinical significance.
