The blades are replaceable, I'm sure you can buy them from the company. It comes completely apart once unscrewed and the blades pop out.

random question though- if you do buy one of these, once the time comes, where do you get the replacement blades?? I see nothing about those being sold on the website...

Will very soon be carrying the replacement blades. Right now they're not in stock but will be in the very near future...most likely before you'd need to have them replaced.

It's a permanent sort of thing. I don't think the blades are replaceable. But also I imagine they last a while.

They are definitely replaceable and yes they do last quite a while. I've been using the same pair for the past 3 months and they haven't slowed down. The obvious statement: the more they're used, the more frequent the blades would need to be changed. The build of the device is very high quality, so even if you did have to change the blades a time or two, you'd still be able to use the same housing for years to come.
