Firefox, and I believe Chrome, have build in spell checkers. If you have a hard time with spelling I suggest you use one of those browsers.

The grammar and spelling errors have been pointed out multiple times in this thread, so get back on topic.

Can we point out how hard it will be to not only pass EMT school, but work as an EMT, and defend his PCRs in court, due to the grammar and spelling, too?

First off i think you for your inport. The grammar and spelling errors have been pointed out multiple times in this thread, so get back on topic. moveing on this is a chat not a report. And my spelling and or grammar has nothing to do with if i can be a Emt or how good of a emt i would be. why dont you step back and think maybe (he know of this and well not turn in report with bad grammar or miss spelled word).

One of the requirements for being a good EMT is to be able to casually read and write English, fluently. It's really important that you be able to communicate in written English while completing a number of other tasks and holding a conversation with your patient.

Read a book for at least an hour every day. Good books, recommended by smart people. This will stretch you as a person and improve your spelling and grammar.

Edit: And in your scenario, I'd splint the patient on arrival, attempt to contact the parents, and if that wasn't possible, I'd try to contact any adult the child could list as a secondary contact. I would then transport the child to the hospital, preferably with whatever adult was with the child at the time of the injury.

Au contrair, mon ami. It has a lot to do with if you can be an EMT, and gives the perception to how good of an EMT you will be / are. This is something you'll learn in class when you start, especially if the class is worth anything, when you go over documentation.

But I also don't want to irk ffemt by continuing this discussion, so just take what we said and know that it DOES matter on your reports.

It isn't even just about report writing. If people have to re-read a post 3-4 times to understand it they are less likely to respond to the thread.

Exactly. I have no idea what the poster is talking about so there is no way for me to offer any sort of constructive feedback. I would also argue that it is doing the poster a disservice to not point out that proper spelling and grammar is important EMS. Report writing was not really stressed in my course, and I imagine this is true for others. Since it's one of the most important things we do day in and day out, I don't feel like I am being an *** or overly nitpicky here.

While I agree that proper spelling and grammar makes understanding the OP easier, I reiterate that it has already been pointed out multiple times. I understand and, to a certain degree, have no problem with pointing out the necessity of correct spelling and grammar. My issue is the repeated pointing out of what has already been stated, which contributes nothing to the thread.

So let me rehash a point I already made....

GET BACK ON TOPIC and lay off the spelling/grammar issues in this thread.

** I have no issue with pointing out the importance of spelling and grammar to being a good EMT, but don't abuse my patience. **

I doubt anyone had to read the post more than once to understand it. Sure, it's hardly the King's English by any definition, but I feel everyone here is greatly exaggerating.

I'm sorry, I didn't realize I failed to make my point of getting back on topic and lay off the spelling/grammar issues in this thread.
