All of website sources tells me that EMT & Paramedics currently have a good job field and also a good job outlook for the next decade(s).
I've been researching a lot about this topic since I am very interested in studying to be a EMT -> Paramedic.
When I search for jobs as an EMT/Paramedic in my area though (as if I was one already and was really looking), I found very very little openings (I live in Central FL).
This is something that I would like very much as a career, but like any other careers, I consider availability of job openings as the most important of all.
For those who are in this field already and have more experience, what is your opinion as far as the job outlook goes? (IN YOUR OPINION, not what all these websites says)

Florida is primarily a fire-based EMS state. You will find very few EMS only jobs that are 911.

I think any career-advising website will paint a naturally rosy glow on "job outlook" figures. I'd say it's safe to halve whatever they're stating. So, if they're saying massive job growth... halve that!

Not sure how the Florida specific job figures are looking, but it's tough right now out west. I have heard Respiratory therapists are in demand on the east coast.

I'm in Florida and it will vary County to County. Most are Fire base, a few privates, and a few more County EMS. But Florida is broke right now, so hardly anywhere is hiring but the Privates. And those around here are... Usually less than top quality, and "Revolving Door" comes to mind when someone talks about them. Either way, it's hard in Florida right now. Especially if you are looking for a full-time gig. I just got lucky with mine. Definitely look into getting Fire One and Two if the systems around you are fire-based.
