I really need some suggestions/ideas in the area of giving positive feedback to the local ems providers. I feel as though they've been under appreciated lately and would love to try and boost their moral. So many of them do a great job, and as you know don't receive many pats on the back. ANY ideas would really be appreciated. Thanks guys!!

Are you supervising them? Were you treated by them? It would help to know more about your connection to EMS.

Sorry. Should've elaborated a little more I guess. I work for a Private health system as a liaison between EMS and our health system. Just trying to figure out a way to give positive feedback, as opposed to only negative feedback when something goes wrong. I think they are beginning to feel a little "beat up" as of late, and that's the last thing we want.

Lol...cookies are great, but was looking for a little more this time(and don't say doughnuts!!).

How about an appreciation picnic?

Talk to your staff that interact with EMS, roll out a response card to the staff, and have them write up an attaboy whenever they catch the people doing something cool. When the crew does a good job with a difficult patient, makes a good catch, navigates a complicated situation gracefully, or just develops a rep for being good to work with, have them jot a note on the card and get it to the crew via their leadership.

It's always great to get called into the bosses office for a good writeup.

Keep drinks in your EMS room, and give vouchers to the hospital cafeteria with your attaboys, or with patient dropoffs.

People always make bags and stuff with the hospital logo, or calculators with the hosp logo, or coffee cups, but anything more than an ink pen is total clutter for me. On the other hand, each of my kids has 2-3 hospital duffel bags that they use all the time, so I guess they're good for somehting.

When you say private health system do you mean a hospital system or something else?

Ha! That was what I was going to suggest to, but I wasn't sure if the OP was with a hospital or not.

Yes, I work for a health system which has several area hospitals. The areas emergency response is performed by 3 different counties.

I like the suggestion about dropping a favorable note to the supervisor of the EMT(s) who impressed you.
