Officials at crossroads over EMS jail service

SEGUIN — Who pays for EMS service when an inmate is transported from the Guadalupe County Jail for medical treatment?

That is the question that has stymied some city and county officials while infuriating others.

The county attorney’s office is looking into the questions of who should pay for EMS services, and whether or not an interlocal agreement between the city of Seguin and the county jail is necessary to transport an inmate to the local hospital. The county attorney’s office hopes to have an answer next week.

I would have to say originating agency...which ever one is responsible for them being there in the first place.
 
Well the inmate is responsible for him/her being there.
 
My only question would be... "Who owns the Prison? The County, State, or Feds?"

the answer to that is who's paying.
