Woman in the water calling for help at ~1:00am... bystander strips down and jumps in... water is only 4 feet deep... woman appears to be in no distress and refuses to accompany the man to the dock after 30 minutes of "negotiation"... instead, she strips naked and moves further away into deeper water... man leaves the water and returns to the bar he was previously at and informs the police of the situation... Fire/Rescue and Ambo requested... the two officers and an offduty FF return to the dock and enter the water because they can;t see the woman and fear for her safety... she is now 250 yards from the dock in 8 feet of water, drifting away... They negotiated with her for another 10 minutes and were able to secure a rescue ring around her and tow/swim (against the tide) 300 yards back to the dock... once out of the water she is assessed by Medics... and ASSAULTS them... Now in handcuffs, she is escorted to the Ambo where she continues to be combative... She is arrested and charged with "offensive touching of medical personnel, disorderly conduct, and resisting arrest"... Question... what is offesive touching of medical personnel?
"It'll probably go down as the most unusual water rescue of the season."
