I need some help and some questions answered about being a Paramedic/Becoming one you can reply here if you wanna help me out:P

what do you need to know?

RCC program or St. Vincent's can train you for the NJ qualifications.

The first step in NJ is to get certified as an EMT-B. I don't believe any school is going to take you with a First Responder Cert. Some programs won't take you until you have a year or two of EMT under your belt. Some will take you as soon as you are certified. If you're in a hurry, go to Hudson County. You can get your EMT through Liberty Health and go right into their paramedic program (probably in 2009-10. It's a little tight for getting into the 2008-9 class).

You can look up the details at:

click on Education.

The JCMC program is really good from what Ive heard.

But everything else is true, most medic schools require an EMT-B cert along with the usual CPR cert. Acouple college offer the course as a degree but its probably better finding a hospital sponsered course since you need to do riding time/internship as part of the course.

The degree programs have the riding time internship as a part of the course. Can't be certified in NY or NREMT without.
