I'm new to the class too, about 4 or 5 weeks in. I read before lectures for the first 11 chapters and did pretty good on the first test, now I go to class without having reading and sit through the leture and ask questions, then go back read the chapters, answer all the questions. This seems to be helping me understand everything better. I guess you could say I'm "unprepared" for class though.
