Hi All,
I am a new NREMT-B with a state certificate in IL and MO. FWIW, I am currently not affiliated with any EMS employer or hospital. I have a few questions for you guys on getting continuing education hours.
Anyone here from MO and/or IL? If my understanding is correct, it seems that both states will accept a renewed NREMT-B certificate, so if I wanted to maintain both my National Registry and my MO/IL certificates, it seems that the logical thing to do would be to meet the standards to renew the NREMT-B, correct? Is my thinking off here?
If that is the case, is there any industry accepted courses/places (that are legitimate and accredited, etc.) that can make the logistics of keeping track of con ed hours "easier?" For example, I heard about a website the other day, (www.ems-ce.com) and was looking for something along those lines, but my bigger concern is to find out what is "the norm" in the industry and see if something like that is frowned upon or not...?
My secondary concern is to (if possible) find a way to take the apparent hassle out of makeing sure one meets all the requirements necessary to renew.
Finally, what is "the norm" for completing the con eds regularly? IL requires every 4 years and MO every 5, but do people generally do every 12 months or something like that just to stay fresh and all? What do people "commonly do" here?
